Nestled in the cool mountains of Alta Verapaz, the Valdes family has been producing exceptional coffee at Santa Isabel Estate since 1875. Now led by fifth-generation farmer Luis “Wicho” Valdes, the estate balances tradition with innovation, dedicating a third of its land to forest reserve and developing organic solutions to reduce pesticides. During harvest, cherries are handpicked in up to 12 passes for peak ripeness, resulting in a clean, bright cup with notes of apricot, apple and caramel.
Their dedication to quality and sustainability has earned international recognition, including Cup of Excellence awards in 2011 and 2012.
