Alejo Castro Kahle has been a household name for us at P&R for the best part of a decade. Along with Volcan Azul he has 2 other farms, Hacienda Colima and this coffee from Hacienda la Union. Located in Los Santos region of Costa Rica, Alejo grows this coffee with the love and attention he and his family have shared for several generations.
This particular lot is a Villa Sarchi variety; A natural mutation of the more well-known variety Bourbon. It is in fact a single gene mutation that causes the plant to dwarf. This in turn makes it good for high altitudes and higher density of planting.
