
A fresh look, same purpose
Another year of meaningful progress has taken shape, so what’s new this time around?
For starters, our 2025 Impact Report is packed with extra interactive features this year. A new page, Our Coffee, highlights where we source our beans, from Guatemala to Costa Rica and all around the map. Additionally, we’ve added videos to selected sections for a more visual experience, where you can hear directly from our team and partners.
With a refreshed look and feel, the purpose stays the same: to share what we’ve been working on and the great impact we’ve achieved together.

Community action with Surfrider
In December 2024, our team joined Surfrider to clean up Manly Beach and learn about the effects of microplastics in the ocean ecosystem. Together, we collected 3.7 kilograms of marine debris, a concerning total that has only strengthened our drive to do more.
On top of that, we donated over $12,000 to support Surfrider’s work, including 10% of our Black Friday 2025 revenue. Thanks to initiatives like these, the PEP-11 bill was blocked, officially ending offshore oil and gas exploration along Australia’s East Coast.

Running for Takayna
Another standout moment was our participation in an ultramarathon with Bob Brown Foundation. Our Cafe Network Manager, Richard Bettles and Founder, Saxon Wright, tackled the 65km Takayna Trail to help raise funds and awareness for one of the last truly wild places on Earth.
Thanks to our customers and supporters, we raised over $10k. On top that, this year we hosted a Takayna - the Heart of Lutruwita film screening which raised another $8k. In total, we raised nearly $19k for The Bob Brown Foundation.

Sustainable packaging milestone
Transitions can be tricky. However, we successfully navigated a large packaging transition. Thatβs no small feat. Our 250g packaging is now Roadside Recyclable-ready Mono Substrate. This means the entire bag is now made from the same material and is easily recyclable at home.
We also partnered with UNSW on a revolutionary end-of-life packaging study that allows Mono Substrate material to be infinitely recycled.

Ongoing partnerships & environmental commitments
Alongside these milestones, we continue our work with organisations like OzHarvest, helping rescue and redistribute food that would otherwise go to landfill, and through our ongoing partnership with Epping Boys High School, where we support training across coffee roasting and sustainability.
On the environmental front, we contributed $132,000 through the 1% For the Planet program and began transitioning parts of our fleet to electric vehicles. Thatβs all part of our longer-term commitment to doing better, year after year.

Looking back, moving forward
It feels rewarding to be part of this yearβs Impact Report once again. The Pablo & Rustyβs team is incredibly proud of what weβve achieved, and it has been a real honour to work alongside such a dedicated team to bring it all together.
