Why 45 grams?
Sometimes, you really can have too much of a good thing. We wanted to reduce the pack size for this program so fellow coffee lovers could taste a variety of coffees without denting their pocket. According to our calculations, 45g works perfectly for three filter or two espresso coffees. Try it, you’ll see.
Why are you freezing the coffee?
We wanted to offer a variety of extra-special coffees that are readily available and frozen at their peak to brew and enjoy. Freezing ensures these exceptional coffees always maintain their quality and dramatically extend the shelf life. The freezing process also minimises wastage (both from your end and ours) and has allowed us to offer a range of exceptional coffees at accessible prices.
Can I freeze the coffee once I receive it?
Yes! We typically don't recommend doing this for our signature P&R coffee blends, but with our Expedition coffee, you absolutely can. As long as the bag hasn’t been opened, you can store it in the freezer between -15c to -20c. Once the bag has been opened, we recommend that you don’t freeze it again.
How long will the Expedition coffee stay fresh?
Store your Expedition Pack coffee in a dark, cool area, away from direct sunlight. (The pantry is usually a great home for it.) After receiving your Expedition coffee, we recommend drinking it within three weeks.
I’ve received the coffee but the roast date is older than I expected.
No stress. Here’s how it works: We roast in small batches, then vacuum-pack in 45g bags. We then freeze the coffee straight away, which preserves freshness. We’ll dispatch this to you whilst it’s still frozen, so it will defrost on its way to you. Rest assured that the coffee we send has recently been roasted, and is essentially only a few days old. We’ve tested and perfected our methods and have found that whether beans are fresh or frozen, there’s no detectable change in taste or aroma.
This means that your Expedition Pack beans will come totally fresh and ready to enjoy. Drink up!
