We are thrilled to introduce this exceptional natural coffee sourced from our longstanding partner, Yunnan Coffee Traders, with whom we have collaborated for the past six years. YCT, a trailblazer in the Chinese specialty coffee industry in Menglian County, Yunnan, oversees farming, milling, research, and training operations.
Guiben is situated on the East side of Xishuangbanna, an autonomous Dai region in Southern Yunnan that shares borders with Laos and Myanmar. Mr. Tian Cai, the Farm Operations Manager for YCT, leads the production of this coffee, while Mr. Tang’s family members manage day-to-day farm activities. These dedicated individuals are part of a small community of farming families in the Guiben region. The cherries used in the coffee are cultivated on these farms and procured directly from nearby smallholder farmers.
This particular lot is a natural processed coffee, where the cherries are dried intact, and only later, at the dry mill, are the outer layers—spanning from skin through to parchment—removed. In contrast to washed coffee, this method imparts distinct characteristics, with notably higher sweetness, berry-like aromas, and a full-bodied profile.
