From the heights of the Caranavi region, Bolivia, we are very proud to present Finca San Bartolomé. Julio and Lupe run this farm, farming the land and growing coffee for over 25 years. Driven by a passion for coffee, Julio and Lupe began producing specialty coffee a decade ago, later joining the Sol de la Mañana program in 2016.
The Sol de la Mañana program started in response to decreasing coffee production in Bolivia. Less developed coffee plantations, simple farming techniques, and diseases such as leaf rust reduced yields, resulting in many farms growing coca (used for cocaine) over coffee. Focused on helping smallholder producers like Julio and Lupe improve their coffee quality and yield, the Sol de la Mañana program aims to provide training courses and share coffee knowledge, creating a more sustainable future for coffee in Bolivia.
This high-quality coffee is a testament to Julio and Lupe’s passion for coffee, and we thank them for this delicious offering.
