Handege ABKenya

This year was a lower yielding harvest for Kenya. We feel very lucky to be able to get our hands on a Kenyan coffee such as this one. This coffee growing region, Kiambu, is situated in an ideal location to produce amazing coffee. The soil here is rich with volcanic rock. There are plenty of shade trees that help slow down the cherry development for improved quality. The region is home to plenty of wildlife such as hyenas and porcupines. After harvest, the coffees are pulped, fermented and washed. The coffee is then left on raised beds to dry in the sun.
